Implants have Taken Over the Dental World

When I lost a lot of my teeth and didn’t want to get a denture, my dentist in Reading recommended dental implants to me. At first I was unwilling to pay the £1958 for each implant, which seemed extremely steep. Then I looked into a mirror and grasped how important my smile was to me, and how much I wanted it back. The dentist explained to me how implants work: a screw is fixed into your bone, and then a fake tooth can be attached to the screw.

The dentist anaesthetised me before the procedure, and it was completely pain-free. It ached for a while afterwards, but it was completely fine, and I’m really pleased with it. I chose porcelain teeth to replace my lost teeth, so my smile is even better than it was even when I still had all of my teeth! The dentist also said that I’ll have to look after my teeth properly now if I want the implant to last, something which I’m more than happy to start doing. Yes it’s expensive and yes the idea of something being screwed into your jaw is more than a little scary, but it works great, and my smile is better than ever.
